Participant Information Page

June 28-29, 2008

Infineon Raceway

This page is intended to provide you with the information that you need for the event listed at the top of this page.  Please pay close attention, as some information does vary from event to event.  Missing important information could cause you some undue hassles at the event.  There are three sections in this document: General, Racers, and HPDE/Open Track/Time Trials (TT).  Please read the applicable sections.

Note- you will need to be able to open PDF files.  If you cannot open them, you may need to install / update your Adobe PDF Reader.  It's a free download.  Download the reader here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html.

GENERAL (Everyone)

Admission:

Unless you are a hard-card carrying official (including instructors), then you will pay $10 per person at the gate.  That admission covers the weekend whether you are there one day or two.  If you go in on Saturday, save your ticket so you don’t have to pay again Sunday.

Registration

You are pre-registered, which means that you do not need to go to registration at the track!  Just go to your drivers meetings and track sessions.

Schedule:

All schedules are found here: http://www.nasaproracing.com/norcal/schedules/master.htm.  Simply open the link and select the event listed at the top of this page.  All schedules are posted in PDF format.

Paddock & Parking:

Everyone will be allowed two vehicles in the paddock, 1) your track vehicle and 2) a support vehicle.  “Support vehicle” could be your street car, truck, etc. OR your trailer, but not both (semi tractors may stay attached to their trailers, as long as you can fit in the parking space).  We will have paddock marshals and security patrolling the paddock.  You will be required to move unauthorized vehicles, empty trailers, etc. to one of the parking lots.  DO NOT PARK IN THE PRE-GRID AREA!

There are two paddock maps.  Each one shows the details of a different part of the paddock.  Please study BOTH drawings.

Please note the “RESERVED PARKING” area on the Infineon Paddock-North map, across from the tower entrance.  It’s a 25x80 area that is labeled “Tower Officials Parking Only.”  That doesn’t mean ANY official, either.  This means the people that work in Race Control and T&S.  Unless you are one of these people, please do not park in that space.

IMPORTANT PADDOCK RULES!  Please review these very carefully, so that you and your friends may enjoy your weekend more safely and without concern of being ejected for breaking one of these simple but very strict rules: http://www.nasaproracing.com/norcal/events/paddock_rules.pdf

Sound Limit:

There is a STRICT sound limit of 103 dBA measured 50’ from the line on driver’s right, apex of T12.  Attempts to fool the meter or lift will easily be detected by the track’s dedicated sound person (they hate that!).  So, please prepare to adjust your muffling system if necessary.  This is the same standard that has been in place for years.  Nothing new here.  I just felt that I should remind everyone.

Lunch Time:

Please help alleviate long wait times at the concession stand by planning on meals at other-than-peak-hours.  No one wants to stand in a long line and wait for their food.  As participants you will have lots of opportunity to visit the restaurant.  We want everyone to enjoy all aspects of their day, which (to me) does not include standing in line for 30 minutes!

NASA BBQ sponsored by Wine Country Motorsports!

This event will feature the standard NASA full dinner BBQ on Saturday night.  Wine Country Motorsports has generously sponsored all the beer and wine at this BBQ.  Please thank Dave Lipsky of Wine Country Motorsports when you see him at the BBQ.

Kid Club:

This is not official "day care."  We are happy to have a couple of very intelligent and experienced ladies to watch the kids.  We have games and toys.  This is a club service provided at no charge.  The ladies in charge do a great job, however you must understand that if you use this service you do so at your own risk.  So far, we have not had any problems (knock on wood).  Ok, disclaimer over.  It's a lot of fun for the kids of all ages (not recommended for infants) and it gives the parent(s) a break.  Most of all your kid will meet new friends and have fun at the track.  Next time an event comes up, they will be begging you to go along!

EXEDY MONEY!

Exedy Clutches is giving away a free $75 pre-paid Visa card at each event.  The winner will be chosen from the entry list.  If you are chosen, you will be called via the PA system.  And the only catch is that you must have two Exedy decals on your car when your name is called.  This is good for all HPDE, TT, and race drivers.  You can get decals at registration and probably pre-grid, as well.  Exedy decals are free

Next Event:

Do not wait.  The next event is around the corner (and may already be filled in some HPDE groups).  Check out the registration page for the next event: http://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_event/list_events

Minor Participants (drivers 16 or 17 years old):

Please print out this waiver and bring it to track with a parent's signature. http://www.nasaproracing.com/norcal/event/minor-waiver.pdfNote- Minors under 16 years of age cannot participate on track at this event, even with a racing license.  This is a track rule.

Data Acquisition / Coaching

NASA has teamed up with I/O Port Racing Supplies to offer Data Acquisition Services using equipment by Traqmate. This is a high performance GPS Data Acquisition System with Video Overlay for racers or HPDE enthusiasts who want to record their day and play it back with in-car video. I/O Port will provide the equipment and expertise to analyze your performance to get the most out of the car and driver. I/O Port will provide professional coaching techniques and take the time to help you understand your setup and improve your driving skills. You will go home with a DVD that includes your video and all the data to play back at your leisure.  Available for students in groups 3, 4, TT and all race groups (except INEX due to rules conflict). The price is $500/day/driver, payable to NASA at the track. This will include 4 sessions of data, video, analysis and coaching.  Please call I/O Port to make a reservation: 800-949-5712
