Thunderhill Raceway

This page is intended to provide you with the information that you need for the event listed at the top of this page.  Please pay close attention, as some information does vary from event to event.  Missing important information could cause you some undue hassles at the event.  There are three sections in this document: General, Racers, and HPDE/Open Track/Time Trials (TT).  Please read the applicable sections.

Note- you will need to be able to open PDF files.  If you cannot open them, you may need to install / update your Adobe PDF Reader.  It's a free download.  Download the reader here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html.

GENERAL (Everyone)

110 Octane Fuel:

The California Air Research Board (CARB) has come up with a new requirement.  These geniuses want you to think that by making you fill out a form every time you buy 110 octane gas at the track, this will somehow improve our air quality.  Of course it won't.  This has to do with taxes, naturally.  It's a long story but, here is the form you will need to submit if you want to purchase 110 octane at the track.  You can fax in this form to the track, once a year.  Please be careful how you answer the questions, although there is no one actually checking the validity of information.  Fax # 530-934-8794.  Here is the form:  http://www.nasanorcal.com/fuel_purchase.pdf Enjoy!

Admission:

Unless you are a hard-card carrying official (including instructors), then you will pay $10 per person at the gate.  That admission covers the weekend whether you are there one day or two.  If you go in on Saturday, save your ticket so you don’t have to pay again Sunday.

Registration

You are pre-registered, which means that you do not need to go to registration at the track!  Just go to your drivers meetings and track sessions.

Schedule:

All schedules are found here: http://www.nasanorcal.com/event2010/aug/schedule.pdf

Paddock & Parking:

Everyone will be allowed two vehicles in the paddock, 1) your track vehicle and 2) a support vehicle.  “Support vehicle” could be your street car, truck, etc. OR your trailer, but not both (semi tractors may stay attached to their trailers, as long as you can fit in the parking space).  We will have paddock marshals and security patrolling the paddock.  You will be required to move unauthorized vehicles, empty trailers, etc. to one of the parking lots.  DO NOT PARK IN THE PRE-GRID AREA!

Note- Racers found in violation of the vehicle limits will suffer penalties applied to their starting / finishing position.  No exceptions.

There are three paddock maps.  Each one shows the details of a different part of the paddock.  Please study ALL drawings.

Paddock-South

Paddock- Middle

Paddock- North

IMPORTANT PADDOCK RULES!  Please review these very carefully, so that you and your friends may enjoy your weekend more safely and without concern of being ejected for breaking one of these simple but very strict rules: http://www.nasaproracing.com/norcal/events/paddock_rules.pdf

Lunch Time:

Please help alleviate long wait times at the concession stand by planning on meals at other-than-peak-hours.  No one wants to stand in a long line and wait for their food.  As participants you will have lots of opportunity to visit the restaurant.  We want everyone to enjoy all aspects of their day, which (to me) does not include standing in line for 30 minutes!

Kid Club:

This is not official "day care."  We are happy to have a couple of very intelligent and experienced ladies to watch the kids.  We have games and toys.  This is a club service provided at no charge.  The ladies in charge do a great job, however you must understand that if you use this service you do so at your own risk.  So far, we have not had any problems (knock on wood).  Ok, disclaimer over.  It's a lot of fun for the kids of all ages (not recommended for infants) and it gives the parent(s) a break.  Most of all your kid will meet new friends and have fun at the track.  Next time an event comes up, they will be begging you to go along!

Next Event:

Do not wait.  The next event is around the corner (and may already be filled in some HPDE groups).  Check out the registration page for the next event: https://secure.drivenasa.com/event

Minor Participants (drivers 16 or 17 years old):

Please print out this waiver and bring it to the track with a parent's signature. http://www.nasaproracing.com/norcal/event/minor-waiver.pdf
